Done is Better Than Perfect

After four months of concepts, mockups, designs and redesigns my new website is FINALLY live, y’all! Huzzah!

Allow me to reintroduce myself … my name is HOV. H to the O V …

I’m just kidding. My name is L’Oreal, but you can call me LT and this is my blog. Or, I should say, this is my NEW blog. If this is your first time here, thanks for stopping by. If you’re a longtime reader, welcome back.

This new site has truly been a labor of love (many thanks to my designer, Narsha, for her creativity and patience in dealing with me).

I don’t know about y’all, but this first quarter of 2017 has been a doozy. And, if it were up to me, this site would probably still be “under construction.

You see, I’m a recovering perfectionist. Ugh, who am I kidding? I’m very much an overly ambitious Type A perfectionist. It’s the reason I’m in therapy right now. And it’s the reason why I’m infamous on having a million ideas, but often fail to execute.  I’m so caught up in everything being perfect that I fail to just do the damn thing in first place. So I decided it’s finally time to shit or get off the pot (excuse my French). After all, done is better than perfect

Because if we keep waiting for the “perfect” moment, we’ll be waiting for the rest of our lives.

So whatever that brilliant idea is you’re sitting on, just do it already. There are only so many webinars you can take and books you can read before you finally have to just let go and let God. And you’ll feel much better after you take that leap of faith, believe me. You got this.

#preach! We also figured there was no time like the present to start our little beard care business. I was pregnant and nauseous and wondering if we should wait. Then i thought, “life is just going to get busier with each new kid. If we start the business now, then it becomes one if our babies. Something we always have to nourish and grow and balance with the demands if the other children.” Is it a daily struggle to find time? Yes. Are we the most perfect company with the most perfect market strategies? No. Do we regret taking the leap? NOPE. You never know what you can do until you start!

Absolutely 100% YES! Sometimes you just gotta go for it. There will never be a “perfect” time. So proud of you and hubby for taking the leap and I wish you nothing but success with your venture! 🙂

This is a word right here. I am also a recovering perfectionist and it also landed me in therapy. After becoming a mom, I realized that my quest for perfection was causing me WAY too much angst and anxiety. So, I’ve been working on just acting and getting things done. And, guess what? The world hasn’t exploded (yet)! 🙂

Congrats on the site relaunch… It looks beautiful!

Thanks so much for your kind words, I really appreciate it! And GIRL, therapy has helped SO much. I’ve learned that perfection is wayyy overrated and you’re absolutely right, the world has not (and will not) explode if we don’t get to everything on our to-do lists.
